ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1.	Ability to build custom RIA components for digital media applications in collaboration with other RIA engineers.
2.	Responsibilities will include interaction design and the design, prototyping, and creation of various related interactive interface elements.
3.	Receive pre-approved web comps and build Actionscript 2/Actionscript 3 to match comps with a high degree of accuracy across several web browsers. 
4.	Provide support to the quality assurance team to debug and validate implementations.
5.	Coordinate activities with PM and other project developers.
6.	Troubleshoot issues with existing applications and systems. 
7.	Participate in the identifications of project tasks and provide accurate estimation of effort hours.
8.	Conduct maintenance and bug fixes.
9.	Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
1.	Bachelor’s degree in a computer related discipline or equivalent years of work experience.
2.	Three - Five (3-5) years relevant experience in RIA development, and at least 2 recent years of flex/flash RIA development.
3.	Strong OOP fundamentals, familiarity with design patterns and their application in a flash environment.
4.	Experience with Web Services, ECMA languages, HTML,CSS, AJAX, SDLC and XML.
5.	Demonstrated ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail while working on multiple projects simultaneously
6.	Understanding of MVC architectures. Experience with PureMVC or Cairngorm is a plus.
7.	Experience integrating front-end code with JavaScript and one or more server-side scripting technologies (specifically PHP a plus). 
8.	Experience with source control and code versioning.
9.	General understanding of SOA and web services
10.	Ability to work independently, within prescribed guidelines, or as a team member
11.	Detail oriented and strong written and verbal communication skills.
12.	A desire to learn, try new things, and solve problems.
13.	Strong coding ability, this is not a designer position

This developer should have a thorough knowledge of all the inner workings of ActionScript and Flash and should have a mind for making things fast, stable, and lightweight.

This role reports to the Lead Application Developer. Compensation is commensurate with experience.

Experience required:

I believe you are right about that. You cannot (as far as I know) pull from the wsdl file without using the proxy of BlazeDS or LCDS, however you can still get almost all the same info via the HTTP Service as I did above. If your host server will allow, you can load LCDS or BlazeDS yourself and use the proxy or you can just use the HTTPService...

Or you could write your own proxy if you have another domain you do have access to.

I know it&#039;s frustrating, but there are lots of ways to skin a cow.
